I don’t want to wear the post operative garment in the summer, but it’s the only time I can have the surgery.
Following some surgical procedures a compression or support garment is worn whilst healing to improve the result, for example, after liposuction, tummy tuck or breast surgery.
The garments available these days are based on new technologies in textiles and aesthetics. The bras are innovative and provide maximum support and most girls wear them for exercise following the procedure. The textile is made out of Lycra-soft for better support and Coolmax for moisture management.
The Coolmax is a revolutionary fabric that is more breathable and comfortable than any other garment available. It is embedded with a moisture management system that pulls moisture to the outer layer of fabric and dries quickly. It allows air to easily permeate the garment. Coolmax provides garments for burns victims.
When can I go back to work after surgery?
Breast enlargement is a day procedure, so you don’t have to stay in hospital overnight and most people are back at work in a week.
Breast lifting and breast reduction patients are back at work in 2 weeks.
After Liposuction, depending on the number of areas, you can be back at work from a couple of days to a week.
Facial surgery usually requires about 2 weeks off, and the more major Tummy Tucks 3-4 weeks.
Can you feel the breast implants?
At the consultation with the surgeon you would discuss this. When you are very thin you may be able to feel them but these days the implants are often placed under the pectoral muscle or partially sub-muscular so most of the implant is hidden by the pectoral muscle. Occasionally you would be able to feel the implant where breast stops and the implant starts and sometimes you can feel them at the base of the breast; again a lot depends on what you have to start with. It is always a great idea if clients bring a list of questions with them when they come in to the clinic.
Does breast surgery hurt?
Breast augmentation can be painful postoperatively in the first 48 hours, especially, when the implants are placed sub-muscularly. The surgeon prescribes pain relief for the days following surgery and you need to take the pain relief regularly to keep the pain controlled. This is easily done with the medication prescribed. Occasionally patients need a bit more or bit less medication and this is considered when the medicine is prescribed.
All in all you are back at work and on your feet again in 1or 2 weeks after the operation.
Can I have my lips done and go out on the town?
Having your lips done is very exciting, however it is a really good idea to let them settle overnight. There can be a little swelling initially which might make you self conscious. Rarely, you can get a bit of bruising, and the products attract moisture from surrounding tissue, so drinking alcohol can bring on bruising and reduce the result.
