| Do the dermal fillers hurt ?
The wrinkle fillers can be a bit uncomfortable and clients do have anaesthetic cream on for 15 to 20 minutes prior to the treatment. When the lips are being done the doctors provide a local anaesthetic injection which numbs the lips. This is given inside the mouth and is pretty easy. These procedures make the treatments more comfortable.
What happens when I make an appointment for a filler or botulinum wrinkle treatment?
You have a consultation with the doctor who will provide your care and discuss what you would like to achieve. You also discuss the pros and cons of the variety of products available, what they can achieve in your case and what combinations would suit you. The costs are considered so you can choose an option which suits your budget. How can I make my lower face look fresher without having surgery?
We are doing a lot of jawline reshaping with injectable treatments using the latest techniques. The lower face is bit more challenging than the upper face and this is where the loose skin, aka, jowls and turkey neck appear. You can lift the corners of the mouth with Botulinum therapy to stop the droopy jaw look, or sad mouth. This only needs a small amount of the product and it also improves the jowls a little as well. Treatment along the jawline can also lift the jowls and improve turkey neck. Smile lines can be filled with dermal fillers and/or a collagen booster can be introduced to kick start your collagen growth. The process is slow with the collagen treatment and does require a plan which the doctor will discuss with you. The areas from the nose to the mouth – naso labial lines and corners of the mouth can be treated with strong fillers to reduce the downward sad mouthed appearance. To complete your new look, you can have the border of the lips enhanced. This can all be done at the same visit.
Is there anything I can do to prepare if I am coming in for wrinkle treatment?
Yes, stop taking any blood thinning products, like neurofen, aspirin, anti-inflammatory, fish oils cod liver oil, vitamin E, mega doses of garlic, herbal products - anything that thins your blood. This helps to avoid bruising as much as possible. Occasionally there will be some bruising so it is better to plan the treatment well ahead of any events. You can also ring the clinic for advice beforehand and speak with a staff member.
I’ve lost a lot of weight and now I have very saggy skin on my arms and body. What can I do to get rid of it?
Rapid weight loss is often accompanied by a loss in skin elasticity. Our surgeons perform several “lift” procedures to remove excessive skin and tissue that does not respond to diet or exercise.
Excessive, flabby skin underneath the upper arm is a real problem area for many people as it is almost impossible to tone with exercises. Arm Lift surgery is known as Brachioplasty.
Sagging thighs can be tightened with a Thigh Lift which lifts loose skin and tightens ligaments where necessary.
Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), is performed to reduce skin and tissue of the abdominal area, whilst tightening tummy muscles if required. It can be extended to the full body circumference, known as a Body Lift.
A Breast Lift may entail a reduction of skin and tissue to place them higher and make the breasts firmer, or implants may be used to fill out the loose skin whilst lifting sagging breasts.
Procedures involving the removal of excess skin usually result in visible (though discrete) scarring. You should discuss this with the surgeon at your consultation.
